London Road Yard, Preston
Early yard, workshop and operational base
As Sprite Prime continued to grow, operations were based from our London Road yard in Preston. The site served as the company’s workshop, stores and operational hub, supporting utility and civil engineering projects across Lancashire and the North West.
From this location, the business expanded its fleet, equipment and workforce, helping establish the reputation for reliability and service that Sprite Prime is known for today.
2014
Expanding Operations
Growth of the London Road depot
As workloads increased and the business continued to grow, additional portable office and welfare facilities were introduced at the London Road depot. The expanding site supported a growing workforce, larger fleet and increasing project demands across Preston and the wider North West.
This period marked an important stage in Spriteprime’s development, demonstrating the company’s steady growth from a small family-run operation into an established utility and civil engineering contractor.
2015
Tomlinson Road, Preston
Investment in vehicles, plant and operational growth
As Sprite Prime continued to expand, the business moved into larger premises at Tomlinson Road, Preston. The additional yard space, workshop facilities and storage areas provided the foundations needed to support a growing workforce, fleet and workload.
The move marked an important stage in the company’s development, allowing further investment in vehicles, plant and equipment while improving operational efficiency across utility and civil engineering projects throughout the North West.
From this location, Sprite Prime continued to build its reputation for reliability, quality and service, supporting local authorities, utility providers and major infrastructure clients.
2015
A New Home For Spriteprime
Securing the future of the business
Continued growth created the need for larger premises. In 2015, Spriteprime secured its new home at Tomlinson Road, Preston, providing significantly more space for vehicles, plant, storage and future expansion.
The move represented one of the most important milestones in the company’s history, giving the business the infrastructure needed to support larger contracts and a growing workforce.
What began as an empty yard would soon become the operational base that continues to support Spriteprime’s projects across the North West today.
2015
Moving Day
The beginning of a new chapter
After months of preparation, refurbishment and planning, Spriteprime officially moved into its new premises at Tomlinson Road, Preston.
Pictured on moving day are Jane and Sue Braithwaite in one of the newly prepared office spaces. What would eventually become a busy operational headquarters was, at this point, little more than empty rooms, determination and a vision for the future.
The move marked one of the most significant milestones in the company’s history, providing the space and facilities needed to support continued growth across the utility and civil engineering sectors throughout the North West.
2026
Tomlinson Road Becomes Home
The operational base for Spriteprime today
Today, Tomlinson Road remains at the centre of Spriteprime’s operations. The site provides the space needed for vehicles, plant, materials, workshop activity and day-to-day project coordination.
From the early London Road yard to a larger and more established operational base, the journey reflects the company’s steady growth, continued investment and long-term commitment to supporting utility and civil engineering projects across the North West.
Nearly three decades after being founded, Spriteprime remains a proudly family-run contractor built on hard work, loyalty, reputation and practical delivery.
